A steadier Desk

A follow-up build about one thing: reliability. It fixes a bug where ending a session from macOS's own Stop Sharing control could leave Desk unable to accept new connections until relaunch, and tidies up how the connection key is displayed.

Fixed

  • Stop Sharing recovery. Ending a session from macOS's screen-sharing menu-bar indicator could leave the Desk service unable to restart its listener until the app was relaunched. The listener's network port is now released deterministically, so the QR code and connections come right back.

Improved

  • Connection key display. The hidden key now shows a fixed-length placeholder (it no longer hints at the key's real length), very long custom keys scale to fit on one line, and the hidden/shown choice is remembered across launches — revealing still requires unlocking with Touch ID or your password.

Compatibility

  • Works with SharkTTY 1.6 or later on your iPhone and iPad. If your app is older than 1.6, download the earlier SharkTTY Desk 0.5.0 build instead.

Now a terminal, too

SharkTTY Desk grows beyond remote desktop: a redesigned window turns it into a full SSH terminal for your Mac, with your saved hosts and scripts synced from the SharkTTY app on iPhone and iPad.

New

  • SSH terminals in the app. Open SSH sessions and a local shell right inside SharkTTY Desk — a new resizable window with a sidebar for your hosts, live sessions, and account. It's a full terminal client now, not just a remote-desktop agent.
  • Hosts & scripts, synced. Saved SSH hosts and run-on-connect scripts sync with the SharkTTY app on your iPhone and iPad, so the servers you set up on one device are ready on the other.
  • A redesigned interface. A new Liquid-Glass look, with the desktop window as the primary experience and a slimmer menu-bar presence.
  • Clearer remote audio. The two-way audio from 0.7 now uses the Opus codec for better sound at lower bandwidth.
