SharkTTY 1.8.1: it listens now — voice input, six keyboard layouts, and an experimental ET transport

The largest single build of the year on the iPhone and iPad side. On-device voice input with an optional AI layer, a keyboard rebuilt around real layout data, an Eternal Terminal client for networks that block UDP, share links for a Mac, a terminal bell that becomes a notification, and a virtual mouse you can finally dock.

Forward-compatible Codable: old clients must never destroy what new clients wrote

A pitfall report in two acts: the default String-enum decode that silently freezes sync the day a newer app writes a new value — and the “tolerant” fix that's worse, erasing newer fields under last-writer-wins. Raw-preserving enums, an unknown-field bag, and the three tests that pin the contract.

SharkTTY 1.7 and 1.8: a floating keyboard, a magnifier, and the Mac's sound in your hand

Two tags an hour apart, and the release where remote desktop stopped being a viewer and became a way to work. A floating QWERTY keyboard you can move and dim, a native-resolution magnifier on the virtual mouse, negotiated quality tiers, system audio and a microphone uplink — and, in 1.8, Opus instead of raw PCM to carry it.
