Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Shark InkNote cost?

Shark InkNote is a $0.99 one-time purchase on the App Store. Pricing in other regions is set by the App Store and shown at checkout. All features are fully unlocked upfront. There are no subscriptions, in-app purchases, or ads. Refunds are handled directly by Apple via reportaproblem.apple.com.

Which iPad models and iPadOS versions are supported?

Shark InkNote is designed exclusively for iPad and requires iPadOS 16.0 or later. It is optimized for all Apple Pencil generations with low-latency pressure sensitivity.

How do handwriting pages and Markdown pages work together?

Within a single notebook, you can create handwriting pages (drawn with Apple Pencil) and Markdown pages (typed text). They exist as independent page types that can be mixed in any order in the notebook.

Where are my notes stored and how do I back them up?

By default, notes are stored locally in the app's sandbox on your iPad. You can also select a folder in iCloud Drive, Google Drive, Dropbox, or a local NAS via the system Files app to keep your entire library synchronized and backed up.

What files can I open in the Reference Workspace?

You can open local PDFs up to 512 MB, remote HTTPS PDFs, Markdown files, local videos up to 2 GB, or direct HTTPS video links. You can arrange them in split-screen or overlay modes alongside your notes.

How does voice recording and speech transcription work?

Audio recordings attach directly to your note pages. Voice transcription is powered entirely by iPadOS and Apple's native Speech framework. Safafish operates no servers and does not collect or transmit your recordings.

How do I export my notes?

You can export individual pages or complete notebooks as high-fidelity PDF files at full resolution directly from the notebook menu.
