Privacy Policy
Shark InkNote is built from the ground up with a strict privacy commitment: we collect zero data. Everything stays in your hands.
Shark InkNote — Handwritten Notes for iPad
1. Core Principle: Zero Data Collection
Shark InkNote ("the App", "we", "us", or "our", bundle identifier com.safafish.inknote) is developed by Safafish. We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell any of your personal data. We operate no back-end servers for this App, require no account registration, display no advertisements, perform no user tracking, and include zero third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
2. Your Notes & Data Storage
All your handwritten strokes, drawings, typed text, bookmarks, and notebook structures remain entirely under your control:
- Local Sandbox by Default: Notes are saved directly in the App's local Documents directory on your iPad.
- Custom Storage Location: You can select any folder on your device or via the system Files app (such as iCloud Drive, Google Drive, Dropbox, or a local network NAS) to store your entire library.
- Developer Inaccessibility: These storage locations belong entirely to you. We have no access to your files, folders, or note contents.
3. No Accounts or Personal Identity
Shark InkNote does not operate an account system. You never need to register, log in, or provide an email address, name, telephone number, or any other personal identifiers to use the App.
4. No Analytics, Crash Reporting, or Tracking
The App is built exclusively with Apple's native system frameworks. It contains no third-party SDKs, no analytics tools, no telemetry trackers, no crash-reporting services, and does not request or utilise Apple's Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA).
5. Local System Logs
Diagnostic logs generated during App execution use Apple's standard Unified Logging system (OSLog) and are written solely to your local device. These logs are never transmitted to any external server.
6. Audio Recordings & Photo Attachments
Any audio recordings you capture or photographs you insert are stored locally inside your note packages on your chosen storage location. They are never uploaded to any server operated by us.
7. Speech Recognition & Voice Transcription
Shark InkNote offers optional voice transcription for your audio recordings. To ensure complete transparency:
- Transcription is powered by Apple's native Speech framework and processed by iPadOS.
- Depending on your device model and system settings, audio data may be sent to Apple's servers for speech-to-text recognition. This processing is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and Siri & Dictation terms.
- Your audio and transcription results never pass through our servers, and we have no access to them.
- Speech recognition permission is entirely optional. If you decline or revoke this permission, audio recording remains fully operational (audio files will be attached without transcription).
8. Remote Reference Materials
You may choose to add remote HTTPS PDFs or direct video links as reference materials in your notes. When you view or load these materials, your iPad connects directly to the third-party server URL you provided. This network traffic does not route through us, and interactions with those servers are governed by their respective privacy policies.
9. iPadOS Permissions
The App may request the following system permissions when you use specific features:
- Microphone: Used solely to record audio attachments for your notes.
- Speech Recognition: Used solely to convert your recorded audio into text via Apple's Speech framework.
- Photo Library: Used solely to let you select and insert images into your notes.
All permissions are optional and requested only upon your explicit action. You can grant, deny, or revoke them at any time in iPadOS Settings without affecting core note-taking capabilities.
10. Children's Privacy
Shark InkNote does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
